Musician and producer Nicholas Nace has been capturing the sounds of the New York City underground for over a decade as a documentarian, amateur ethnomusicologist and avid contributor to the City’s open mic scene. Radio Amateur NYC is a tribute to the non-traditional artists who are its unsung heroes. Each episode is full of great original music and interviews with local musicians and comedians. Recent guests have opened for George Carlin, appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and had music featured on NPR's All Songs Considered.  Nace also takes his passion for producing to the next level with his own open mic, Radio Amateur Openstage, on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the historic 116 MacDougal (formerly the Gaslight).  Recent projects include the musical score for TELL YOUR FRIENDS: The Concert Film, featuring comedians Liam McEneaney, Kristen Schall, and Reggie Watts and the Art Star Sounds Compilation, featuring Andy Warhol superstar, Taylor Mead and Antifolk heroes Kimya Dawson and Langhorn Slim. Nace is also a member of A Brief View of the Hudson (Best Folk Duo - NY Press)
